Baby Steps

I love Bill Murray and his portrayal of Bob in 'What About Bob' has always stuck with me.

He was a unconventional person due to all these hangs ups he had and others who knew him viewed him as weird.
Taking advice from a uninterested doctor he goes on a journey where he releases baggage from the past that kept him mentally bound and developed new and healthy relationships.

The uninterested doctor finds himself on the journey of self discovery against his will along with Bob.
He finds himself reevaluating who he is to his family as a father and a husband, who he was to his community as a doctor and as a neighbor as well as who he was to himself.

While you may see their antics as jovial fun even as a kid I got nuggets of wisdom from what was happening. Be a present parent, take your time doing anything, it's ok to make mistakes, it's ok to be scared, it's ok to take it moment by moment and lastly it's ok to not be perfect.

Talking about how opposites attract you wouldn't imagine that by the end of the movie that a healthier Bob would be family friends with his doctor.

As I am always reevaluating my journey I see some parallels in my life and Bob's just like my life and the Doc's. How am I affecting my environment and how does it affect and reflect off me? How am learning the lessons of life and applying them to who I am and who I want to be?

What movie continues to reach you always teaching you something new.
